The project is a business challenge for local secondary school students at GCSE level. The competition involves the students running their own market stall for the day. The format will involve SIFE Nottingham University mentoring two teams from a local school (possibly boys v girls) and SIFE Nottingham Trent University mentoring two teams from a local school and all four teams will be competing against each other, each with their own stall and own product. We plan to have a guest judge come along and select a winner on the day of the challenge, which is scheduled to be late March / early April.
To help the students prepare we will be holding workshops in the schools, which will cover entrepreneurship and the business related information they require for the task. We will also create comprehensive information packs, including a business plan template and assign a member of our team to be a separate member for each team, to provide further guidance. The money raised at the end of the project will pay for a trip for the students to visit the countryside.
